Sym currently heads the Commercial and Corporate Law Group of the Law firm of Johnson Bryant. Sym has supported the process of setting up of Nigerian subsidiaries of a number of foreign companies. Majority of these where companies who were new in the region and his expertise in corporate legal framework and practices was key in achieving the goals of the clients. He has worked through a number of business acquisitions and or mergers with Nigerian companies. He oversaw the legal due diligence exercises on the acquired companies, as well as the reorganization of the corporate structure of the acquired companies for optimal operations and in line with the corporate philosophy of the new organizations. In the area of risk management, Sym has advised corporations in such risks related to safety, security and reputational risks.
