The trial of a Gibson Dunn & Crutcher employee accused of making roughly £33,000 worth of false overtime claims has been delayed because the defendant is unwell.
Marion Carrington is facing four charges of dishonestly obtaining thousands of pounds from the US firm’s London office through alleged bogus overtime and fraudulent petty cash claims.
Carrington, from Surrey, was employed at the firm’s Temple Avenue offices in the City.
She was due to appear at the Old Bailey today to enter a plea to the charges, which date from 2004 to 2007 and 2007 to 2010.
However, her case has been postponed because she has informed the courts that she is too ill to appear.
No new date has been set.
The allegations are that she stole more than £33,000 in false overtime claims and more than £5,000 in false petty cash claims. Carrington has yet to enter a plea.
