Clifford Chance has elected banking and finance group head Evan Cohen as the firm’s new Americas regional managing partner (RMP), with his four-year term set to begin on 1 May this year.
Cohen, who has led Clifford Chance’s Americas banking practice since 2005, is best known for acquisition and leveraged finance, project finance, syndicated lending and restructurings. His career has included eight years working in Hong Kong.
Current Americas RMP Craig Medwick will return to the corporate practice following the completion of his second and final term on 30 April.
“It’s an honour to have been elected,” said Cohen in a statement. “I want to thank Craig for his leadership during a time of economic turbulence in the US market. He helped us build a strong foundation to deliver profitable growth; I look forward to spending more time with him in the months ahead to ensure a smooth transition.”
