Hogan Lovells yesterday (19/02/13) reported the death of senior intellectual property partner David Latham.
The IP specialist qualified as a solicitor in 1980 and joined the legacy UK side of Hogan Lovells in 1986, becoming a partner two years later in 1988.
He is understood to have been killed last Friday (15/02/13) on the London Underground. The inquest into his death opened today. Police said they were not treating Latham’s death as suspicious.
In a statement the firm said: “Hogan Lovells is saddened by the loss of David Latham. He was a great colleague, a friend to many, and a highly regarded professional who we all enjoyed working with.
“He was a very well-known and highly regarded figure in the intellectual property world. David was a long-standing senior partner at the firm with significant international experience including managing for some time the then Lovells New York office.
“Our thoughts at this time are with David and his family.”
