Field Fisher Waterhouse head of finance, Alan Hodgson, is leaving the firm to become Ince & Co’s director of finance.
Alan Hodgson is to become the director of finance at Ince & Co after leaving Field Fisher Waterhouse (FFW) where he was head of finance since January of last year. At the same time Ince & Co’s David Pollard, who is the current finance chief, will replace Andrew Jennings, who is retiring, as director of operations.
Jennings will leave the firm at the end of April after 20 years with the City outfit. The firm said Pollard was selected as his replacement following a wide-ranging recruitment process, with both personnel changes taking place in May.
Ince & Co senior partner James Wilson said in a statement: “The partnership is indebted to Andrew for his dedication to the firm and the positive changes he has helped us to achieve. His expertise and experience have been invaluable and, during this period, Andrew has also ensured that we have high-quality professional support in all areas across the firm.”
He added that Hodgson - who joined FFW in 2008 as assistant finance director from Deloitte - would “bring valuable experience of the legal sector, and we look forward to welcoming him to Ince & Co”.
His new role is a director-level position, in contrast to his previous duties as head of FFW’s finance operation but without director status.
Confirmation of Hodgson’s exit follows the resignation of Charles Keeling, its first-ever COO, to join Clyde & Co as global HR director last autumn after taking on the board-level role at FFW a year earlier.
FFW is aiming to recruit a new finance boss but has decided against replacing Keeling as COO and will instead allocate the responsibilities to managing partner Michael Chissick.
Last month it announced Chissick as its permanent managing partner following an interim period as acting chief, with former managing partner Matthew Lohn becoming senior partner. The change of leaders still requires a partnership vote, which will take place before the end of the financial year in April.
Chissick said in a statement: “I can confirm that Alan Hodgson is leaving Field Fisher Waterhouse to join Ince & Co as director of finance after four and half years. We would like to thank Alan for his hard work and dedication. He has been a great member of my team and we wish him the best in his future career. We are currently in the process of recruiting for Alan’s replacement.”
