Luxembourg firm Arendt & Medernach has added to its corporate capabilities with the hire of a partner from Linklaters’ Luxembourg office, Laurent Schummer.
Having joined legacy firm De Bandt van Hecke Lagae & Loesch as an associate, Schummer now joins Arendt & Medernach after six years as a partner at Linklaters,.
He specialises in corporate law, particularly upstream and downstream private equity transactions. His clients have included Apollo, Apax and CVC.
Arendt’s managing partner Guy Harles said Schummer’s hire allowed the firm to reinforce its capabilities in corporate law, particularly M&A and fund structuring.
Paul Mousel, chair of the firm’s board, added that the appointment demonstrated Arendt’s ability to attract the best talent in Luxembourg to its doors.
