Norton Rose Fulbright has been appointed as lead international counsel to support Ooredoo (formerly Qatar Telecom) in the greenfields deployment of a multi-billion dollar mobile telecoms network in Myanmar (Burma). The project is one of the leading telecoms projects in the world at present.
Ooredoo is one of only two foreign telecoms companies recently awarded a new Nationwide Telecommunications Licence in Myanmar as the country accelerates its development and liberalisation plans. The team is being jointly led by Gigi Cheah, Partner in our Singapore office and Dr Martyn Taylor, Partner in our Sydney office. Dr Martyn Taylor, Partner at Norton Rose Fulbright commented:
