MARTIN MUSHKIN, Member, graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School. After serving as a legal officer (JAG) in the U.S. Air Force, he was associated with a high profile New York litigation firm and subsequently was a Senior Trial Attorney for the Securities and Exchange Commission. Since then, he has practiced law in the private sector, with an emphasis in the securities and venture capital areas. Martindale (martindale.com, lawyers.com, and nexislexis.com) has peer rated him AV for decades. Martindale is the largest lawyer rating agency in the United States, and that is the highest rating that Martindale awards. Mr. Mushkin has been admitted to practice in the federal and state courts of New York and Connecticut, and has been admitted by numerous Federal District Courts and state courts throughout the country for individual cases. He is a mediator for the Federal District Court for the Southern District of New York, and a member of the chairmen's panel for FINRA arbitrations.
He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in securities and commercial arbitrations and defendants in enforcement proceedings. A substantial portion of his practice is in the representation of offshore business clients, both corporations and individuals. On their behalf he has advised on numerous securities registrations, acquisitions and dispositions of control of public shells with appropriate full disclosure, merger and acquisition transactions, and sales of U.S. securities offshore.
In addition to our domestic clients, Martin Mushkin has represented off-shore securities broker-dealers, contractors and other businesses. Mr. Mushkin has lectured at conferences sponsored by the Securities and Exchange Commission and private professional organizations. He has published many articles, some of which are referenced below on this website. He was the founding attorney.
