Paulo Rogério Brandão Couto is one of the founders of Brandão Couto Wigderowitz & Pessoa Advogados. He is based in Rio de Janeiro, although he has a nationwide practice with focus on product liability, energy law, contracts and general litigation.
Paulo Rogério has major experience in complex litigation, with the main focus on product liability litigation. Since 1998 he and his team of lawyers are in charge of the defence of the major Brazilian tobacco industry, food, brewery and pharmaceutical laboratories.
He holds a degree from the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro Law School (LL.B., 1978) and a Master’s degree from Southern Methodist University Law School, TX., USA (MCL, 1981). He has published several articles dealing with product liability and consumer defence.
He is highly recommended by Chambers Latin America and Análise Advocacia’s directories in the area of product liability.
