Virginia Viray was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1998, and was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in 1991. She began her career as a Revenue Officer of the Philippine Bureau of Internal Revenue. She likewise served as Legislative Assistant to the Secretary of Finance, and as Professor of Taxation Law at the Far Eastern University Institute of Law. She heads PJS Law's Tax Group.
Her practice includes mergers and acquisitions, private equity, real estate, and taxation. She has served as lead counsel in significant Philippine M&A transactions across various industries. She likewise advised several investment banks and hedge funds in their acquisition of distressed assets from Philippine financial institutions during the effectivity of the Special Purpose Asset Vehicle Act.
