According to the BBC, Microsoft has lost a long running antitrust appeal in the EU General Court, who said it ‘essentially upholds the Commission's decision’.
For failing to comply with orders given in 2004 to provide specific pieces of product information to competitors the software giant was fined €899 million four years ago.
Despite the upholding of the ruling, the fine has been reduced to €860 million, after Microsoft argued that the original sum was ‘excessive and undeserved’.
