As the co-founder of the firm, Risti holds broad expertise in the IP area with over 20 years of experience in providing assistance for both Indonesian and foreign clients in a variety of IP projects. Risti leads the IP Prosecution Team and oversees the Commercial IP practice group.

Admitted as IP Consultant in 2006, Risti has handled prosecution of trademarks and geographical indications, industrial designs, copyright and patent and enforcement of IP rights as well as led IP commercial projects. One example, she is the person behind the successful first-ever exemption issued by the Ministry of Trade for a multinational ready-to-assemble furniture manufacturer and distributor.

Risti has published a number of IP-related articles, including on Bloomberg Law and Franchise Law Review.

She spoke on a number various seminars on IP-related topics and is actively involved in providing input in law making process in Indonesia.

The IP Prosecution Team consists of 12 lawyers, 4 paralegals and 3 patent counsels. Under Risti’s leadership, the team has been consistently entrusted to handle a number of multinational companies’ IP portfolio, both for domestic and foreign companies. Some of the clients have been with the firm since the firm was established. Not only does the work involve in handling traditional IP works, but the team has also been continuously exposed to numerous IP projects with different nature of work, such as: IP due diligence, FTOs, investigation, general advisory works, enforcements and litigation.

The work that Risti handles includes, amongst others: managing clients’ IP portfolio (both local and international filings), providing advisory works on all aspects of IP laws, securing and maintaining clients’ IP rights, representing clients in a diverse of IP transactions, work alongside affiliations in different countries in managing clients’ international filings overseas.

Work with agents/foreign firms in securing and maintaining IP protection in different countries; involved different IP transactions; and providing advisory services in support of clients for their project overseas.

Prior to establishing the firm, Risti was a senior associate in a prominent general corporate form, as part of the firm’s IP Division, for almost 11 years. During her tenure with the previous firm, Risti was exposed to a different type of projects and transactions, involving IP or general corporate matters, which eventually enriched her capability and knowledge. She began to focus on IP matters since 2003 and continued to develop her skills thereafter.

Risti is regularly being sought to give lectures in different events (seminars, workshops, trainings) both for public and upon special requests from her existing and new clients.

She has also been involved as a speaker in one of INTA’s event.

Risti loves to cook, bake, read and do gardening. She also enjoys sharing her knowledge so she has also been continuously involved in seminars, workshops, both for public and for clients.
