He also teaches Economic Competition courses in several universities in Mexico and serves on the board of directors of several national and foreign companies.

Luis Alberto´s practice is focused on Competition and Antitrust Matters, Mergers and Acquisitions and Corporate Matters.

In terms of Economic Competition, he has advised leading companies in the notification of global and domestic mergers, and in the defense of companies under investigations initiated for alleged antitrust practices in various sectors.

In his career, he has developed extensive expertise in business law, mainly in the defence of minorities’ rights and sophisticated procedures of purchase and sale.

Luis Alberto was part of the legal team during the negotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement.

Afterwards he founded SAI Law & Economics, where he spent 19 years. During this time, he was dedicated to advising Mexican and multinational companies in the design and negotiation of various business operations and its antitrust consequences.

In 2014 he founded Aziz & Kaye Business Law, a firm that specializes in antitrust, M& A and corporate work.

He has been for the last 15 years board member in several companies and non for profit organizations.

He graduated with honours from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).

Earned his Master’s degree (LLM) in International Law at the University of Georgetown in Washington DC.

Obtained a master in European Community Law at the Collège d’Europe, in Brugge, Belgium.

He has taken specialized advanced courses courses at the IPADE in areas such as family business and board members training.

For over 15 years, Luis Alberto has been part of the board of JUCONI Foundation, an organization whose main purpose is to prevent family violence. Currently, he is the president of the board. JUCONI does work in Mexico, South America and Africa.

He is the board secretary for Proempleo, a national organization that promotes self employment in Mexico.

Luis Alberto has been recognized several years in a row by Chambers and Partners magazine, Legal 500, Who’s Who and Latin Lawyers as one of the best lawyers in Economic Competition and Arbitration in Mexico.
