FranckelLaw was established in 2008 by Advocate Simon Franckel, calling on his experience as an English solicitor – called in 1989 – and a Jersey Advocate since 2004. Since then the firm has grown steadily and the firm has established itself as a specialist dispute resolution law firm.

Advocate Franckel specialises in matters of Jersey Trust Law and offers advice and assistance to all parties involved in trusts, in the hope of avoiding escalation of the issue through the Royal Court. Often disputes arise out of a genuine misunderstanding of the roles, rights and obligations of the different parties to the trust, and a proper explanation can resolve or narrow the issues without the need for litigation.

FranckelLaw is a niche dispute resolution law firm. As the firm has grown and evolved, it has developed a specialist trust and fiduciary advisory role, advising and assisting trustees, beneficiaries and high net worth individuals.

The firm advises and represents Trust companies, beneficiaries, HNWI and Protectors, and is also often asked to represent minor and unborn beneficiaries in trust disputes before the Royal Court.

In addition, the firm deals with commercial litigation of all kinds, and contested and uncontested probate and succession issues.

The firm’s clients are both local and international.

Advocate Franckel qualified as an English solicitor in 1989 and worked in the Dispute Resolution departments of DLA and Walker Morris before moving to Jersey in 2001.

He requalified as a Jersey Advocate in 2004 whilst employed at a major Jersey law firm before establishing FranckelLaw in 2008.

Advocate Franckel is a regular speaker at seminars and FranckelLaw also offers in-house presentations to local trust companies in order to keep them updated on developments in trust law.

Advocate Franckel was formerly the Chairman of Trustees for the CentrePoint Trust. He is a current Member of the Foundation Committee of the Jersey Cheshire Home.
