Bonaccord is a commercial boutique established to support the scientific community. While our largest practice is in life science we also work in the space and satellite, innovative food and drink, specialty chemical and engineering sectors.

In addition to legal work we assist our clients with IP and business strategy, sourcing investment and identifying other specialist service providers or partners around the world

We aim to establish long term relationships with our clients and pride ourselves on taking a genuine interest in our client’s technologies and success. Our low overhead model and friendly, business savvy approach makes us particularly well suited to working with early stage and smaller businesses who are looking for hands on support.

Patricia has held in house positions in the US, Denmark, Switzerland and Belgium and supported clients all over the world. Bonaccord is happy to work with clients in other jurisdictions and has a broad network to support clients across our favoured sectors. She has an understanding of the needs and concerns of businesses in a variety of jurisdictions which makes her well placed to support foreign companies in the UK or to negotiate with foreign entities for UK clients. She has served on the committees of international professional associations and trade bodies and so is sensitive to other cultures and practices

Before setting up Bonaccord Patricia worked primarily in house. She held senior positions in Pfizer in both the UK and US and then went on to serve as General Counsel of Vernalis plc, the Ferring Group and Solvay Pharmaceuticals.

Regular speaker to academic and business audiences on various topics. Has taught post graduate courses on commercialisation of scientific innovation at a number of universities and previously taught an IP course at the University of Edinburgh and mediation at the University of Stirling. Currently teaching on the Biotechnology and Entrepreneurship MSc at the University of Edinburgh
