Miguel Peleteiro is a managing director in the Valuation Advisory Services practice for Kroll. He is based in the Mexico City office and is the America’s head of the oil and gas industry for the firm. Miguel has over 20 years of experience in the hydrocarbon sector and has advised governments, major oil companies (NOCs and IOCs), as well as midstream and distribution companies on M&A and strategic and financial topics.
Prior to joining Kroll (formerly Duff & Phelps), Miguel was partner in Accuracy, a corporate finance advisory firm. Prior to that, Miguel worked for EY’s Transaction Advisory Services Group and Morgan Stanley M&A group. Throughout his career, Miguel worked in various sectors, and progressively specialized in oil and gas; he has covered all sub-sectors within the oil and gas industry sub-sectors (upstream, midstream and downstream). Miguel developed research, analysis and negotiation skills by dealing with situations that involved both financial and legal issues, including private disputes and governmental expropriations. He was additionally appointed negotiator by a major oil & gas company, together with the government of Venezuela, for the development of plants along the Orinoco belt for the expropriation process carried out on certain production assets, and for the preparation of the business plan for the area’s development.
Miguel holds a degree in business administration and management from Colegio Universitario De Estudios Financieros (CUNEF), Spain and is a member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators. He is fluent in Spanish, English and Portuguese.
