Finnish firm Roschier has launched a brands team through a merger with IP outfit Benjon.
Roschier takes on a team of seven IP lawyers and professionals, plus paralegals, IP assistants and support staff, which was actioned through Benjon.
Roschier already has a sizeable IP team, which was recently bolstered by the appointment of Astra Zeneca in-house counsel Håkan Sterner. Managing partner Rainer Hilli said the merger was designed to add brand portfolio management and brand valuation to its existing IP and technology practice.
“This type of first-tier, one-stop-shop service is increasingly sought after in the IP field by the larger corporations operating in the Nordic region and globally,” Hilli said.
The brands team will be headed by Benjon managing director Markku Tuominen, who becomes a partner at Roschier.
