Ms. Carice (Tsui-Hua) Chen is the managing partner of Sigma IPR and has been engaged in intellectual property since 1990.  Before establishing the firm in 2005, Ms. Chen worked for the largest international law firm in Taiwan for about 15 years and was the principle of the Patent and Technology Department of the firm.  In Taiwan, there are only a handful of IP firms equipped with a full-fledged chemical/biotech team, among which the team in Sigma IPR has particularly been recognized as the most responsive, detail-orientated and disciplined.  The technical fields covered by the unique chemical/biotech team of Sigma IPR include, but not limited to, chemistry, chemical engineering, polymer, semiconductor, pharmaceuticals, agricultural, life science and biotechnology.  Since Sigma IPR is equipped with the unique chemical/biotech team and staffs having technical backgrounds in such as mechanics, electronics and computer science, Sigma IPR can provide not only customized advice and services for research results in different fields, but also excellent services for interdisciplinary cases.

Ms. Carice (Tsui-Hua) Chen has devoted herself to the intellectual property field since 1990, handling numerous patent dispute cases and is familiar with the matters and skills related to patent disputes.  Significantly, Ms. Clarice Chen takes charge of the technical strategy for the cases she is involved with and has gained recognition form many clients.  Sigma IPR has prevailed in many cases for the clients in not only the validity issues but also the infringement issues.  Under the supervision of Ms. Clarice Chen, the staffs of Sigma IPR consider not only how to obtain rights for the clients but also how to enforce the rights in the future as handling the prosecution matters.  Also, the staffs of Sigma IPR always consider how to reduce costs and avoid unnecessary expenses for the client when arranging the filing of patent and trademark applications.

Ms. Clarice Chen excels in both patent and trademark matters and provides local and international clients services covering patent prosecution, invalidation, infringement analysis and litigation, as well as trademark registration, opposition, invalidation and cancellation.

Ms. Clarice Chen received her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in chemical engineer from the National Taiwan University, and master’s degree in law from Shih Hsin University. She also took the summer courses in Franklin Pierce Law Center, Research in Intellectual Property (IPSI & ALI) in 1999.

Ms. Clarice Chen is a registered patent attorney, trademark agent and registered professional Engineer in Environmental Engineering in Taiwan.
